With Seong Gi-hun refusing to get on the plane and seemingly heading in the direction of the incoming next round of Squid Game, you can bet just about every person sat watching the show had one question on their lips: what now?

Now that Il-num is no more, just who is left pulling the strings when it comes to the South Korean iteration of the VIP gambler's dream? Will we simply see another set of folks having to get through the games we've already witnessed, or will new childhood challenges be pumped into the island near Seoul? We could even see some flashback sequences highlighting exactly how In-ho wound up as the Front Man, Il-num set up the game in the first place, or what other games have been utilised when forging the life-changing set of tasks.

The aforementioned jump into the global view of the Squid Game could also be another interesting direction to take, with British audiences in particular likely lapping up the sight of a grotesque "What Time is it, Mr. Wolf?" or life-threatening game of "Bulldog".
