1. Abdul Ali (Player 199)

The sweet summer child of Squid Game, Abdul Ali is a wide eyed and trusting Pakistani immigrant who joins the games to provide for his family after his scumbag employer refuses to pay him. He later manages to crush said employer’s hand in some industrial machinery, but that is completely an accident, besides the point, and entirely justified.

After saving Gi-hun’s life in the first game, Ali proves himself to be a valuable ally as the games continue. When other players succumb to their basic survival instincts, Ali remains determined to see the games through with those who he trusts, even if that trusting nature does ultimately spell his end, as the unfortunate partner of Human Garbage Cho Sang-woo in a zero sum game of marbles.

In amongst all the other fights, betrayals and deaths, Ali deserved better, and no I’m still not okay.
