Ah, the game that started it all. Plus, the one that got that creepy giant doll etched into your mind, never to leave you alone.

As the first game of the show, it was important for this one to deliver, and that it certainly did. The concept was simple, but the consequences and tension involved were palpable. It didn't hold back and made it very clear what kind of show you'd just started.

Red Light, Green Light took the 456 players and placed them in an open space. At the far end was a giant doll that would face away from them and sing a little song. While the doll was looking away, the contestants would need to press forward. But, if they were caught moving once it turned to face them, they received a bullet for their efforts.

Although the violence inherent in the games seemed like a given, it was still massively shocking to see the first players taken out. Watching as all these innocent people were mowed down with bullets was horrifying, and it made for one hell of an opening episode.

It was simple, full of blood, and filled with the quirky imagery that has quickly become synonymous with the show.
