Squid Game: Every Major Death Foreshadowed

1. Cho Sang-Woo (Player 218) - A Promise To Himself

Let's be honest, Cho Sang-woo (portrayed by actor Park Hae-soo) had it coming. We knew in the honeycomb game that Sang-woo was only looking out for himself after he let Gi-hun select the umbrella symbol, despite knowing full well how the game worked.

If there's one thing that Squid Game is keen to prove, it's that karma is real. During the final round, Sang-woo sees the error of his corrupt and deceiving ways and stabs himself in the neck which results in Gi-hun winning the tournament - although Sang-woo did spend several minutes trying to kill him first.

His death was foreshadowed in two ways. As we said, what goes around comes around and Sang-woo had stabbed Sae-byeok in the neck just a few moments prior. Beyond that, Sang-woo's death was also foreshadowed during the break between the first and second round of the games.

Upon returning to his normal life, Sang-woo attempted to commit suicide in a bath tub due to the overwhelming amount of financial (and criminal) trouble he found himself in. The attempt failed though and Sang-woo returned to the Squid Game, only for him to commit suicide in the final round as foreshadowed all those episodes prior.
