Squid Game: What Would An English Remake Look Like?
2. Glass Bridge - Hopscotch
This one is an obvious link to draw because of all the stepping based games in the UK, this one is the most well-known by far; you would be hard-pressed to find a primary school playground that didn't feature a worn-out hopscotch grid painted onto the gravel.
In the glass bridge game, players have to make their way across a bridge made of panels of different strength. Either the one you step on will hold you, or it'll drop you to your death. Simple, eh?
In traditional hopscotch you have to avoid panels of the hopscotch bridge that are marked as being out, usually signified with a beanbag or other small object that players have thrown at the beginning of the game. The equivalent of this could be that each player chooses in secret one panel that will be non-functional, and the participants then have to make their way across not knowing any of the other false footholds than their own, but learning from seeing other players fall.
It would, in essence, be very similar to Squid Game's original bridge - only different in shape and the determination of which panels are useful.
