Star Trek: 10 Awesome Actors We Want As Future Captains

8. Matthew Fox

Matthew Fox is no stranger to television, having been a series regular on Party of Five and Lost. In the latter series, he showed his ability to play a strong leader who was unafraid of making difficult decisions, even when it proved unpopular with the people he was leading. In a Star Trek series, he could easily portray a realistic captain: someone who is dedicated to doing what he knows is right for his crew, even at the risk of it being something they disagree with, and thus alienating them from himself. He would be an intense and driven captain. He would be given to secluding himself from the crew, but for their own good in the long run. Another advantage of casting Matthew Fox in the lead role is his fondness for occasional forays into film. With him on board, the series could go into movies, like the Original Series and Next Generation.
