7. Peter Krause
Peter Krause has had a long and fruitful career in television; lead roles in multiple series, recurring roles and guest appearances in many more, in addition to numerous award nominations and wins. He clearly has a dedication to whatever part he gets, and does his part well. However, I look more to his work in a sci fi channel mini-series, "The Lost Room". Despite receiving mixed reviews, his performance was the highlight. Starring as Joe Miller, he brilliantly portrays a detective whose daughter has vanished, and is hunting down the objects he needs in order to bring her back. In this series alone, he displays all the characteristics needed to play a convincing captain. Someone who would do literally anything, take any danger, even if only to help just one of his crewmen.
