Star Trek: 10 Characters With The Most Appearances
1. 288 - Worf
Even without managing to garner his own series, Worf, Son of Mogh, House of Martok, son of Sergei, House of Rozhenko, Bane to the Duras Family and Slayer of Gowron still tops the list.
Created as an after thought for Encounter at Farpoint, Michael Dorn's Klingon is absent from the initial round of cast promo photos from TNG and spent most of the first season in the background. His character came more to the fore after the abrupt demise of Tasha Yar and stepped over to the Tactical console.
Destined to be belayed at every opportunity to fire a phaser or launch a torpedo, Worf would become one of TNG's most complex characters thanks in no small part to writer Ronald D Moore's overhaul of the Klingons.
Subsequently appearing in all four TNG movies, Dorn would juggle the movie appearances with his turn on a certain former Cardassian mining station.
Fans couldn't pick up a magazine in 1995 without some form of Dorn coming to DS9 screaming out of the pages. Indeed, such was the hype and focus on Worf that many of the stories for the rest of the cast had to be pulled into the first half of the season to balance out the attention.
Worf will appear in seven episodes of Picard's third season, allowing him to hold on to his mantle of the Star Trek character with the most appearances.
