Star Trek: 10 Characters With The Most Appearances

5. 199 - William T Riker

Worf Picard Episodes Star Trek
CBS

As an actor, Jonathan Frakes has managed to turn up in every series except for Prodigy, Discovery, TAS, and TOS which remains an all-time character record.

All but one of his appearances have been as William T Riker with Frakes' DS9 episode, Defiant, actually marking the return of transporter twin Thomas - there's a whatever happened to moment if ever!

Featuring in all 178 TNG episodes, four movies, three episodes of Lower Decks, one episode of Voyager, one episode of DS9 as his own twin, and twelve episodes of Picard, he's still up there amongst the most prolific characters at 198 appearances. OK...for this we can even admit that he was in THAT one episode of Enterprise so round it up to 199.

Even after playing the part of the former USS Enterprise first officer since 1987, Frakes has found increasingly new depths with the character. In particular, he has received a lot of praise from fans for his portrayal of the role in the third season of Picard. His closing monologue in No Win Scenario regarding family was unprecedented from Riker encapsulating the journey that both the actor and officer have taken.

A Star Trek fan from birth, I love to dive into every aspect of the franchise in front and behind the screen. There's something here that's kept me interested for the best part of four decades! Now I'm getting back into writing and using Star Trek as my first line of literary attack. If I'm not here on WhatCulture then you're more than welcome to come and take a look at my blog, Some Kind of Star Trek at http://SKoST.co.uk or maybe follow me on Twitter as @TheWarpCore. Sometimes I force myself not to talk about Star Trek.
