Star Trek: 10 Episodes You Must Watch Before Picard Season 3

5. No Small Parts - Star Trek: Lower Decks, S1EP10

Riker and Troi on the USS Titan.

That one sentence alone should be enough to be hitting the play button on the first season finale from the format-breaking Lower Decks.

Nemesis itself cements that William T. Riker will be leaving the Enterprise-E for the Luna Class Titan, with a slew of novels in the 2000's navigating the adventures of that ship. Sean Tourangeau's design for the Titan initially featured on the cover of 2007's Geoffrey Thorne novel The Sword of Damocles and became an immediate beta-canon hit.

This ultimately led to the ship receiving its own model as part of the Eaglemoss Starships Collection. It took until Lower Decks' season one finale for the distinct design of the vessel to become onscreen canon, racing in to save the USS Cerritos from the Pakleds.

No Small Parts truly puts the USS Titan front and centre. Such is the legacy of Riker's first command that Seven now serves as first officer on the Constitution II Class USS Titan-A. Beta canon may have explored the life of the first USS Titan in more detail than any series but the Kurtzman-era has confirmed its importance to the Prime Universe.

A Star Trek fan from birth, I love to dive into every aspect of the franchise in front and behind the screen. There's something here that's kept me interested for the best part of four decades! Now I'm getting back into writing and using Star Trek as my first line of literary attack. If I'm not here on WhatCulture then you're more than welcome to come and take a look at my blog, Some Kind of Star Trek at http://SKoST.co.uk or maybe follow me on Twitter as @TheWarpCore. Sometimes I force myself not to talk about Star Trek.
