Doctors without borders, room with a view. Is that the Gherkin there in the background? Good to know that survived the upcoming Third World War, I suppose! In any case, Wesley wasn't in England to take in the sights, but to (finally!) pay a visit to his Mum, and to meet the tiny person with the not-yet-English accent (or criminal record): his brother.

Given the bits of information we have from Star Trek: Picard and Star Trek: Lower Decks, the later Ensign via Vōx was likely born at any point between the end of 2380 and the start of 2382. He couldn't have been much younger than three in any case, to be able to ask, "What's your name?" Wesley surely doesn't want to miss the last of his sibling's toddler tantrums and the start of the primary school problem years. Though the other realms were calling, he could go to London anytime.

A spin-off might also allow for a reunion with another kind of family — the rest of the cast of Star Trek: The Next Generation. Wesley was conspicuously absent from Picard's third season in particular, no doubt too much of a deus ex for the Borg machina. His brother's all grown up there as well, serving aboard a ship with a name that's all too familiar to one Wesley Crusher.
