Star Trek: 10 Secrets Of The Romulan Warbird You Need To Know

1. Staying Power

As stated previously, the Romulan warbird was one of Star Trek: The Next Generation's most frequently recurring starships; appearing in a total 17 episodes in that series, plus an additional ten in Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, and two more in Star Trek: Voyager. While some of those episodes featured holographic or illusory versions of the iconic Romulan ship, that's still a lot of mileage.

All told, the Romulan warbird appeared 29 episodes of the three Next Generation-era series and was a blink-and-you'll-miss-it easter egg in Crewman Daniels' 32nd century database in the Star Trek: Enterprise episode "Future Tense".

Shockingly, the 24th century-era Romulan warbird recently reappeared in 2020's Star Trek: Lower Decks, showing up in the series' opening titles and the season one episode "Veritas" in which three Romulan warbirds faced off with the Lower Deckers' stolen Romulan Bird-of-Prey.

With its appearances in Star Trek: Lower Decks, Andrew Probert's Romulan warbird will have stayed active in the Star Trek franchise longer than most other famous designs: 32 years and still going strong.
