Star Trek: 10 Underrated Villains

5. The Intendant

One of the most memorable episodes of The Original Series was "Mirror, Mirror" which took a portion of the Enterprises crew to a different reality where the Federation was an evil, oppressive regime. Many years later, Deep Space Nine would return to the MIrror Universe and explore it further through a recurring series of episodes.

The Terran Empire had reinvented itself as a more benevolent ruling power. Unfortunately, this led to their enemies seeing them as weak, and a coalition formed by the Klingons, Cardassians and Bajorans struck them down, enslaving humans. The highest ranking member of the Klingon-Cardassian Alliance on Terok Nor was the Intendant, known in the main continuity as Major Kira Nerys.

Unlike Major Kira, the Intendant was overtly sexual, adored violence and was downright machiavellian. Her selfishness was legendary in two realities, leading her to be a threat in both universes. She wasn't afraid to crossover and make trouble whenever she saw fit. The Intendant was a thorn in the sides of people in two universes and was probably a lot of fun for Nana Visitor to play.
