If you ever find yourself dealing with someone who insists that Kirk is more badass than Picard, tell them to watch this episode. It will do one of two things: either shut them up or capitulate that the two are equal.

The Enterprise takes aboard a Romulan admiral wanted in the Empire for defection. He claims to have information regarding a planned attack on the Federation and the installation of a Romulan base along the Neutral Zone, but the crew is uncertain of whether or not to believe him.

When the Enterprise arrives at Nelvana III, the alleged location of the Romulan base, and discovers that no such base exists, Commander Tomalak and a fleet of warbirds decloak and surround them, leading to arguably one of the most badass Picard moments of all time when he reveals that a fleet of Klingon birds of prey are side by side with the Enterprise as well, and Picard simply asks the Romulan commander, "Are you prepared to die today, Tomalak? Shall we die together?"
