Star Trek: 8 Easter Eggs From The Picard Season 2 Trailer
1. Yes Queen
Finally, we have what was probably the most exciting reveal of the trailer and the answer to every fan theory on the internet: Q. The return of everyone's favorite omnipotent being (last seen in a cameo appearance in Star Trek: Lower Decks' "Veritas") is signaled by a zoom-in on a deck of cards and a single queen of hearts card, which fades to the letter "Q".
We don't have a lot of details about Star Trek: Picard season two just yet but both Patrick Stewart and John de Lancie appeared during the Star Trek: Picard portion of the Star Trek First Contact Day celebration and Stewart elaborated as much as could:
Q's arrival is – as it often was – utterly unexpected. But also comes at a shattering moment in the episode, and I do mean a shattering moment. Whether it's directly connected to Q or not, I'm actually still not sure, but there is significant trauma and, in fact, at the moment, I'm working on how the trauma of this moment hangs around Picard for quite a substantial part of the episode. And then there he is.
de Lancie joins Whoopi Goldberg who (it was previously announced) will also be reprising her role from Star Trek: The Next Generation in Star Trek: Picard season two, slated to be released in 2022.
Whatever Q's up to in Star Trek: Picard, de Lancie promises it'll be as "annoying" as ever.
