Star Trek: Discovery Season 3.13 Review: Ups And Downs From That Hope Is You - Part 2

2. Osyrra

Star Trek Discovery Osyrra
CBS

After all of the good work that went into developing Osyrra as a character last week, and the work that Janet Kidder put into making her seem like a rounded individual, all of that is thrown out of the airlock this week as she is just turned straight back into a one dimensional villain, even turning on Aurelio - the one character she seemed to truly show tenderness toward.

Her death is as underwhelming as the rest of her actions in this entry. The oddity in Season 3 now will be that in There Is A Tide, she was given the room to breathe and she was shown to be someone who could stand out among the crowd. Here, she is just another bully, offed by a seemingly lucky shot from Burnham, who couldn't even see what she was doing. Makes you wonder, what was the point of the character at all, other than to spur the good characters on a bit.

If one good thing was to come out of any of this - please, please let Aurelio stay on board the ship!
