You have some very bad news and you are not sure how to tell the patient or his/her friends and family. You want them to understand but more importantly, you don't want to repeat yourself. McCoy always had the ability to be over dramatic and non more so when he had bad news to deliver. One great example is in the third season episode ''Spock's Brain.'' McCoy has just discovered that Spock's brain has been removed and stolen. Kirk comes running into Sickbay, concerned about his friend and McCoy has to break the bad news. The situation is unusual and how do you tell someone that their friend's brain has been removed? After thinking it over, McCoy delivers it in the most melodramatic way possible so that there can be no misunderstanding. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v4fU0Ajo4RM McCoy's Lesson: Remember, even if you have news that doesn't make full sense or is rather horrific, the best thing to do is tell it straight and don't be afraid to over dramatize the way you deliver it so that everyone understands the gravity of the situation. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MH7KYmGnj40
