Star Trek: Every Hero Ship Ranked Worst To Best
1. The Enterprise NCC-1701
The original Enterprise and it's interiors were designed primarily by Matt Jefferies, one of the most creative artists in the industry. The ship was iconic, heavily stylised, and unique compared to the typical rocketship look of most other science-fiction ships from the time period.
Beyond being simply a beautiful ship, Matt Jefferies, an aviation-enthusiast, made sure that every single part served a specific function. These individual components like the saucer, nacelles, bussard collectors, deflector dish, impulse engines, shuttlebay, and more could be endlessly rearranged to create a whole fleet of similar starships, giving Starfleet both variety and cohesion in it's aesthetic.
The original Constitution-class Enterprise (as well as the Enterprise-A, which was nearly identical to the refit of the original) deserves to be called the best hero ship in Trek history because all of the Starfleet vessels that came after were variations on it's general design.
