Star Trek Lower Decks: Every Easter Egg & Hidden Reference From 'Envoys'

17. Big Engineering Deck Energy

During Mariner, Boimler, and Tendi's trip to the holodeck in "Second Contact", we got a fleeting glimpse of the USS Cerritos' warp core and Boimler's happy place.

In "Envoys", we see the section in its fully glory. Much larger than anything either Star Trek: The Next Generation or Star Trek: Voyager could afford on a live action television budget, the Cerritos' engine room is a huge space with multiple levels and a large, intricate warp core.

Though this section is a departure from the familiar TNG-stylings of the rest of the ship, engineering still uses freestanding "pool table" consoles and the warp core is fed by red-glowing power transfer conduits, just like the Enterprise-D's core.
