Star Trek: Picard - 6 Ups & 2 Downs From 'Broken Pieces'
2. Broken Pieces

I've been very complimentary of Star Trek: Picards persistent (but restrained) progression of its supporting characters. Every single week each of them are gently nudged forward in their own individual stories without them ever detracting from the core story. Rios and his demons, Raffi and her struggles, Elnor and his code, Agnes and her motives, all of them evolving gradually as events unfold around them.
This week the coming together of this rag-tag crew, along with Soji and Picard, felt like the coalescence of unified individuals. The easy comparison is to the episode's title - as they are all, in their own way, broken pieces - but there's definitely a sense of them being their own collective, and hopefully next week we see them finally unified by a common cause.
Regardless, the show has done a lot of subtle groundwork for each member of our crew here, and it's paying off now.
