Star Trek: Picard - 8 Ups & 2 Downs From The Impossible Box
1. A (Transporter) Jump In Logic
A petty gripe this, but when the show previously has done such good work in this regard, moments when it lets itself down with convenient shortcuts are really noticeable. Despite being instructed to stay on the ship, Elnor senses that Picard is in trouble and decides that he needs to honour his bond to him by beaming into the cube to aid his escape.
This is the same Elnor who, as implied last week, has no idea how to operate the transporter by himself. An Elnor who, having grown up in a nunnery and only just joined the crew, would almost certainly have no idea how to operate the ship's systems well enough to pinpoint where Picard was. Suddenly dropping in out of thin air was a lazy, lazy move.
As I say, a very small gripe this one, but something that the show is usually much better than.
