8. Starting Strong

Two whole weeks the show has left us hanging on where we're going with Soji. Two long, frustrating weeks. While both Stardust City Rag and Absolute Candor really did elevate the show's overall quality, they also left the story's most interesting narrative thread just dangling in the wind. Opening this week with a flashback to Soji's "childhood" and an excellent ball-rolling exchange between her and Narek was the smartest possible move.

They've kept this on the boil for just about long enough that we're all still with it, but holding back on it this week would have lost almost all of the momentum. Instead though we immediately knew we were arriving in the business end of this story, with all the places finally positioned well enough to just press on with the adventure.
