Star Trek: Picard - 8 Ups & 2 Downs From The Impossible Box

6. This. F***ing. Shot.

Star Trek Picard Locutus Borg
CBS

For all its faults (and there have been plenty), some of the cinematography in Star Trek: Picard has been absolutely stunning. The action sequences have looked at him with the high-budget sensibilities of the Abramsverse, the sets and worlds have been constructed with a level of detail and thought never previously seen in Star Trek, and there's been some staggering one of moments.

Retiring to his holographic Chateau after his outburst over The Borg, Picard begins to read up on their destination. He sees several images that recall his previous encounters with the Collective, before pausing on still lifted straight from The Next Generation episode The Best of Both Worlds. With the camera slowly rotating around the shot we see Locutus of Borg overlayed with Picard, and an immortal piece of visual poetry is born.
