Star Trek Picard: Every Easter Egg & Hidden Reference From 'Maps And Legends'

3. Old Friends

First Contact Picard
CBS

Doctor Agnes Jurati shows up at the Château for a quick recap of the mission ahead and a cup of Twining's brand Earl Grey. Jurati is seen reading Isaac Asimov, who in real life coined the terms "robot" and (more relevantly) "positronic brain" – the in-universe Trek tech behind Data's artificial intelligence.

She also mentions that Dahj's fabricated school records showed she was previously a student at the Regulus III Science Academy. The R3SA was mentioned in Deep Space Nine's "Fascination", but the Regulus System has a long history in the franchise and is home to the frequently mentioned Regulan bloodworm.

Against the protestations of Laris, Picard makes it clear he intends to get in a ship and go on his mission. Zhaban urges him to call up Riker, Worf, and LaForge (thank God they're all still alive), but Picard doesn't want to put any more his former mates at risk/wants his own show with a new cast.

Last time we saw Riker, he was commanding the USS Titan in an apparently failed peace mission to Romulus, Worf was still hanging around the Enterprise-E after a brief stint as Ambassador to Qo'nos, and LaForge was either building the Jellyfish with old Spock or helping construct the rescue fleet at Utopia Planitia, depending on which comic called "Countdown" you've read.
