Star Trek Picard: Every Easter Egg & Hidden Reference From 'Nepenthe'
1. More Cool Band Names
Before Picard hugs the Troi-Rikers and beams away with Soji, we get one more Kestra-Soji pep talk, in which Kestra tells Soji that Picard could be like a father to her. According to show runner Michael Chabon's Instagram (a fountain of Star Trek: Picard information by the way), Kestra is wearing a Sex Pistols band t-shirt in this scene. But this being the 24th century, Kestra's shirt is in Klingon and says "Sex Phasers".
The only time we've heard Klingon music that wasn't Worf's Klingon opera, was in the Star Trek: Voyager episode "Real Life" in which the Doctor created a holographic family. In that episode, the Doctor's brat of a teenage holo-son blasted Klingon music in his room which the Doctor (aka "Kenneth") rightly described as "noise".
"Nepenthe" closes out and we say goodbye to Will Riker and Deanna Troi and their daughter Kestra. Three more episodes of Star Trek: Picard to go, plenty of time for Worf, Geordi, and Doctor Beverly to show up and surprise us.
