Rios beams down to Stardust City, Freecloud wearing the first ever pimp hat in a Star Trek episode, with appropriate feathers thanks to Seven of Nine. He is immediately surrounded by sign gags from all over the Star Trek Universe.

As the shot pans down from the CGI vista of Stardust City to the on-location photography at Universal Studios CityWalk in Los Angeles, we see a holographic dancing Orion slave girl. These sexy green ladies appeared as far back as Star Trek's very first pilot, "The Cage" and they showed up in Star Trek: Enterprise in "Borderland" and in "Bound", where it was explained that it was the men in Orion culture who are the slaves, not the slave girls themselves. Deep.

There's a sign for Mr. Mot's Hair Emporium, apparently owned by the now former barber of the USS Enterprise-D. Mr. Mot appeared in the Star Trek: The Next Generation episodes "Ensign Ro" and "Schisms" and was said to be the best barber in Starfleet by a man who knows hair himself, Commander William T. Riker.

We also catch a glimpse of a sign advertising Dabo Tables, a casino game played in Quark's Bar from Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. And, speaking of Quark's Bar, Grill, Gaming House and Holosuite Arcade, Rios stands directly in front of Quark's Bar itself, apparently moved from space station Deep Space 9 or just one in a number of establishments in a Quarks' Bar franchise.
