Star Trek: The Next Generation - Ranking Every Major Character Worst To Best

12. Katherine Pulaski

Star Trek The Next Generation Season 1
CBS

Dr. Pulaski's personality was reminiscent of the gruff doctor of the original series. She’s much more acerbic than Dr. Crusher, who she replaces for a season. It’s a shame that we only have one season of Dr. Pulaski, though.

Pulaski has an interesting dynamic with Picard. She’s one of the few characters who doesn’t idolize him. She’s probably the only character we see call Picard out for his tendency to be a stubborn jerk.

She pushes Picard, and in general, she’s not intimidated by anyone she encounters. This tense relationship between the two characters is juicy! Much better than the will-they-won’t-they love affair between Picard and Crusher. Especially since we never believed that Picard and Crusher would actually hook up.

In fact, the tension between Pulaski and Picard had the makings of a gripping love affair.
