Star Trek: Top 10 Underrated Next Generation Episodes

10. Where Silence Has Lease

Nagilum-HD If you asked me to name one reason why I like this episode so much, I probably couldn't tell you simply because it's a filler piece at its finest, but it is very fun to watch. Written in a catch up frenzy following the 1988 Writers Guild of America Strike, this second episode of a shortened season 2 didn't air until November and was a rehash of an old Star Trek: Phase II script that obviously never came to any fruition. In this episode, the Enterprise is caught in a black hole in space that leads to a dimension of nothingness where a giant space creature that slightly resembles a shaved chimpanzee experiments with them like a rat in a maze. You read that right. Ridiculous, right? It's cheesy science fiction at its finest, which makes it very enjoyable to watch, but be ready to bring out your inner Tom Servo, Crow T. Robot and/or Gypsy for this one.
