Boba Fett holds an interesting place in the hearts of Star Wars fans. He was first introduced in The Empire Strikes Back as one of a group of bounty hunters brought in by Darth Vader. Seeing that armored individual with a jetpack was a bigger moment than fans knew at the time as it was the introduction of an entire race.

While prequel materials have added in many more Mandalorians since then, Boba Fett is still the first one to appear on screen. Everything about him set the tone for how the race is viewed by fans absorbing Star Wars content. And Boba Fett was also the start of all the cultural conventions built into the world.

The funny part is that if you only watch the original cuts of the Original Trilogy, Boba Fett kind of sucks. Supposedly the baddest bounty hunter in the galaxy, he gets taken out by a blind Han Solo and a toothy hole in the ground. But if you delve deeper into the comics, books and other materials, you get a clearer picture of big a badass he truly is.
