Since 2002, there have been eight different Destroyer Star Wars LEGO sets released, ranging in size, features and price. Possibly only outdone by the Millennium Falcon - which has had ten different version released - the Imperial Star Destroyer has become a must-have item in any Star Wars LEGO fan’s collection.

In 2019, LEGO released an Ultimate Collector Series edition of the Imperial I-Class Star Destroyer, with a price tag of £649 for those wanting to purchase the set consisting of a staggering 4,784 pieces. The gigantic set even came with a mini Tantive-IV build, so owners could recreate the opening scenes of Star Wars: A New Hope.

There have also been Star Wars LEGO sets for different classes of Destroyer ships, including the Venator-Class (released in 2009 with 1,170 pieces), Darth Vader’s own Super Star Destroyer (released in 2011 with a whopping 3,152 pieces), and more recently the First Order Star Destroyer (released in 2017 with 1,416 pieces).

If you’re not satisfied with the eight LEGO Destroyer sets already released, then it seems only a matter of time until we get another to add to the collection. With Star Destroyers in their many forms being a mainstay throughout the existing movies, spin-off entries and TV series, and with so much more Star Wars content on the way, we are bound to see a Star Destroyer terrorizing the galaxy again.
