4. Better Fight Scenes
Sure, there are a lot of pretty good fight scenes in the prequels. Anakin and Obi-Wans duel with Dooku comes to mind. So does Obi-Wan and Anakins final battle. But as Mr. Plinkett points out, these seem more like video game fights than film fights. Theres little emotion because of how contrived the plot and bad the acting has been. Theyre pretty, but not particularly interesting. And they dont have anything resembling the weight of Luke and Vaders duels, or Obi-Wans battle to the death. Clone Wars, despite being a goddamn cartoon, has fight scenes with infinitely more weight. My personal favorite is between (spoiler) Darth Maul and Palpatine, and between Anakin and the traitor padawan in the series finale. Those fight scenes are great because they are fueled by emotion, history, desire, and need. They are extensions of the characters. They are not taking place because the script says theres a fight now.
