Star Wars: 8 Reasons The Clone Wars Was Better Than The Prequels

3. It€™s For Kids

clonewars A lot of the faults of the prequels get excused because people say €œit€™s a kid€™s movie.€ Leaving aside the fact that there are plenty of great films that are also kids movies, this just isn€™t true. As Mr. Plinkett points out, the movies are full of very kid unfriendly things like bureaucracy, trade negotiations, super-duper romance, murder and implied rape, violence, child murder, etc. If they€™re kids movies, they€™re wildly inappropriate and also boring. €œClone Wars€ is on cartoon network. It€™s a kid€™s show. There are no plots about trade negotiations. One of the protagonists is a kid, because it€™s a kid€™s show. The plots are kid-friendly. The characters are kid-friendly. THAT DOESN€™T MEAN IT€™S BAD, it means it€™s aimed at kids and accessible to everyone. It€™s honest about its audience, and that€™s a good thing. And once you get the hang of it, it€™s pretty fun to watch the €œkiddee€ bits. For example, every episode starts with a cheesy voiceover that inevitably ends with something like €œor so they think!€ It€™s fun. And there are some good things about it being a kid€™s show. Every episode starts with a single quote, an offering of wisdom. It€™s like watching a Jedi training video.
