Star Wars: Rebels wouldn’t be the success it is now without the talents of Dave Filoni, whose career has consisted of briefly directing Avatar: The Last Airbender, and writing and directing Star Wars: The Clone Wars. A Star Wars fan at heart, Filoni recognises what makes Star Wars so great.

He has a love for the expanded universe, and his previous work on The Clone Wars featured some incredible ideas. As a massive Godzilla aficionado, Filoni even managed to include a storyline involving a gigantic monster attacking Coruscant (which was aptly named the Zillo Beast).

Filoni has managed to craft Star Wars: Rebels into its very own entity, which fits snugly between the events the Clone Wars and A New Hope. Thanks to him, he's accomplished some excellent development for the main characters, and it was his decision to bring back some old faces. So everyone can thank him for Thrawn.

Acting as a supervising director and producer for the first two seasons of Rebels, Dave Filoni’s work with LucasFilm cannot be understated. Recently put in charge of all future Star Wars animation projects, it’s safe to say that the animated universe is in good hands.
