Star Wars Rebels: 9 Reasons You Need To Be Watching

5. Ties To Rogue One

While we aren't sure how Rebels ties into Rogue One: A Star Wars Story yet, there has to be a connection of some sort. Directed by Gareth Edwards, Rogue One is hotly anticipated due to when it takes place, right before A New Hope.

Rogue One will tell the story of how a sect of rebels acquires the plans to the Death Star, and there's already been a reveal in regards to the main character. The mysterious warrior (Forest Whitaker) showcased in the trailers has been given an identity; a guerrilla fighter named Saw Gerrera, who first appeared in season 5 of The Clone Wars. It's an exciting development, and it means that there's potential for other appearances in Rogue One.

It makes sense because the foundations for the rebels have already been set in the show. Numbers have grown exponentially with the help of the team, and acquisitions have been made. Perhaps the two flying aces, Sabine and Hera may turn up to assist the new squad in the battle of Scarif? It's not that much of a stretch either because Rebel's Agent Kallus has already mentioned Saw Gerrera in the show.

The timing for both Rebels and Rogue One is perfect, and if we’re lucky we could even get to see Chopper in the film. That would be worth the movie ticket alone.
