Star Wars Rebels Season 3: 12 Best Moments
7. Back To Geonosis
The mid-season premiere, Ghosts of Geonosis Part 1 and 2 brought the Ghost crew back to the desert planet where The Clone Wars first began. There was so much to love about these episodes, from Forest Whittaker guest starring as a younger version of Saw Gerrara (his character from Rogue One), the concept of a sympathetic Geonosisian and the fact that they were so close to learning about the Death Star, still under construction.
But amongst all that, there is one sequence which truly stands out and it falls in the second half. Discovered by an Imperial Light Cruiser, the Ghost attempts to escape by descending into the catacombs that engulf the planet, but the Empire sends Imperial Jump-Troopers after them. With Saw back on their side, the Rebels fight off the Imperial attack, but to quote Obi-Wan Kenobi, they have the high ground.
That is until Sabine emerges, equipped with her jetpack acquired from Imperial Supercommandos. As soon as she enters the battle, she makes mincemeat of the Jump-Troopers. Not only is it a brilliantly choreographed battle sequence, with moments that showcase Saw and Rex’s brothers-in-arms relationship, but Sabine gets another badass moment.
It was well executed, well shot and well written and is something a tad different from the other battles that we have seen across the three series.
