Katee Sackhoff’s Bo-Katan Kryze was initially confirmed to return in the third season of Rebels, which is why her absence from the Mandalorian storyline came as a surprise. However, there is no denying that she is back for the final season, as we see her donning her familiar Mandalorian armour and ultimately wielding the Darksabar acquired by Sabine.

Bo-Katan first featured in The Clone Wars as a member of the extremist group, Deathwatch, led by Pre Vizsla, the former wielder of the Darksabar. After Maul defeated him in single combat and claimed the sword and its follower for his own, Bo-Katan and her loyalists broke away and ignited the Mandalorian Civil War. She fought alongside Obi-Wan Kenobi, and later alongside Ahsoka Tano (in the novel Ahsoka). She is also the sister to the former Duchess of Mandalore, Satine Kryze, and rightful ruler of Mandalore.

By the end of Legacy of Mandalore, Sabine spoke about how she wasn’t the right person to lead Mandalore, but she was determined to find the person who was. Fans immediately jumped to the conclusion that that someone was Bo-Katan and it looks like they were right.

What’s intriguing is that there is a split second image of Bo-Katan fighting Sabine in hand-to-hand combat. By Mandalorian law, Bo-Katan cannot rightful wield the Darksabar unless she wins it from its previous owner. Could this be what their fight is about? Could Bo be testing Sabine, and herself, for who is the rightful ruler?

It looks like we will be seeing her very soon in the season premiere.
