Star Wars: The Clone Wars - Every Main Character Ranked Worst To Best

One of the biggest issues with the prequels is how quickly we find out Palpatine is the Dark Lord and how easily he seems to manipulate Anakin Skywalker.

The Clone Wars rectified this without fault, and finally gave some much needed insight into what Palpatine's relationship with Anakin was like before Order 66, and how he was able to maintain power within the Senate.

Watching Palpatine slowly manipulate Anakin and feed off his fears and anger is the darkest aspect of the show, especially in the later seasons when the events of Revenge only just around the corner, and Palpatine's evil ways begin to really rear their ugly heads.

The show also gives us a glimpse of Palpatine letting loose his power, as he's shown duelling both Maul and Savage with relative ease, and even manages to kill the latter.

Always the most evil and vile creature in the franchise, The Clone Wars simply adds to this reputation, and makes him more loathsome - and entertaining - in the process.
