Stargate Atlantis Cast: Where Are They Now?

10. Amanda Tapping

Stargate Atlantis Carter
MGM

While Amanda Tapping originated the role of Samantha Carter on Stargate SG-1, she joined Atlantis as the leader of the expedition in the show's fourth season, replacing Dr. Weir, however in the fifth season her role was reduced to that of a special guest star, with occasional appearances. She helped the show lock in with continuity while also allowing her to develop the role of Carter with a greater scope.

After Stargate, she produced the SyFy series Sanctuary, where she played Dr. Helen Magnus. She worked extensively with green screen and CGI on this show, which also featured guest appearances from several other Stargate alumni.

She has been vocal in her support for a return of the show, something that makes sense with Tapping appearing in more episodes of Stargate than any other single actor on the show.
