Stargate SG-1: Every Season Ranked Worst To Best
7. Season 6
Season 6 of the show had a major obstacle to overcome. Beloved Daniel Jackson had died two episodes from the end of Season 5 and was now to be replaced by the young, eager and fresh-faced Jonas Quinn (played by Corin Nemec). The several attempts to show Jonas adjusting to life on Earth were a mixed bag, at best.
That said, Season 6 contained a number of truly excellent episodes. The opening two-parter, Redemption, meant that the SGC was confronted with their brand new enemy, Anubis and his dastardly plans. Frozen gives some light into the Ancients and several plot hooks that would then be picked up in Stargate Atlantis.
Speaking of Atlantis, the season finisher, Full Circle, has the first hint of the mythical city, while also returning to Abydos, the planet that started it all. Allegiance explores the difficulties that the SGC has in marshalling its various allies - the Tok'ra and the rebel Jaffa - all while battling another of the deadly Ashrahk.
Top ranked, however, have to be Abyss and The Changeling, and not just because both of them happen to feature Daniel's return in the form of an ascended being. Abyss has O'Neill in the clutches of Ba'al using his gravity prison, torturing him over and over again, while The Changeling (written by Christopher Judge) is a heartening dream sequence of a different reality that has Teal'c at the very edge of death.
All in all, Season 6 is a good season.
