Steven Moffat Teases Doctor Who Series 7

"I'm writing that right now, the big Rory and Amy heartbreaking finale... I think you'll be in trouble watching it."

Filming on Doctor Who's seventh series begins on February 20th and showrunner Steven Moffat has dropped details about the new episodes we have to look forward too. As we already know Amy and Rory (Karen Gillan and Rory Williams respectively) are both leaving BBC's sci-fi drama in a 'heartbreaking' final episode, that could bring with it some tears. Speaking to the Dublin University's Observer, Moffat said; "I'm writing that right now, the big Rory and Amy heartbreaking finale... I think you'll be in trouble watching it." Pre-production on the new series is already underway in Cardiff, potentially for the series to premiere in the Autumn. "We just had our official day commencing pre-production on Doctor Who," he said. "Knowing when it's actually going to be shown is a little bit optimistic, but... I'm pretty sure it will be the autumn." Most of the scripts for the series are likely to be nearly complete and we know writers for the new shows include Moffat, Chris Chibnall and Toby Whithouse, the latter who has already revealed his episode is intended to come third in the series and be 'one of the last' stories involving Amy and Rory. Moffat himself writes the finale of the characters as he says above.
