Stranger Things: 10 Best Supporting Characters
9. Scott Clarke
He’s the awkward science teacher every Stranger Things fan adores. Scott Clarke (Randy Havens) and his impressive moustache have played an integral part in each season so far. In addition to teaching Mike and friends' science class, Mr Clarke is also the head of Hawkins Middle School’s A.V Club and a Weird Al fan.
His role in each season is primarily to explain the science behind the bizarre goings on. Whether he’s demonstrating parallel dimensions with a paper plate and a pencil or helping a hysterical Joyce understand magnetism, his moments of exposition are always fascinating to absorb. It’s little surprise that his students take such a shine to him.
But the middle school teacher is far more than a vessel for exposition. He’s vibrant, caring, and exceptionally supportive who’s always willing to go above and beyond to help his students - or anyone else who comes to him for advice. Stranger Things has a lot o heart, most of which is epitomised in this humble teacher.
Each time his kind-hearted face appears on screen is a sign that nothing bad is going to happen, and we hope that Mr Clarke will continue to play a part in future seasons, too.
