Stranger Things is a rare kind of phenomenon that you just don't see all too often these days (or, like, ever). Though Netflix is accustomed to producing cutting-edge content with storytelling more in-line with film pieces than your typical episodic television format, there was something special about the 2016 hit.

Truth be told, we could harp on all day about how genuinely amazing Stranger Things (particularly its first seasons) is, and it would be no word of a lie. With its nostalgic '80s aesthetic and its callback approach to science fiction, you won't find anything else like it on either of the screens. And yet, it's not entirely immune to issues here and there.

Now, while everything is susceptible to plot holes now and again (and Stranger Things is no exception), there have been a number of minor mistakes that plagued the show over the years.

Whether its anachronisms brought on by its '80s setting or just innocent on-set goofs, let's take a look back at some of the rare errors you probably didn't notice the first time around.

15. An Out-Of-Time Demogorgon

Stranger Things owes so much of its mythology to Dungeons & Dragons. Though it's certainly all original storytelling, it leans on the kids' passion for the game - so much so that its primary antagonists are named after D&D monsters.

This was clear from the very first episode, as it introduced us to the concept of the Demogorgon through a game of D&D between the foursome, as Mike theatrically placed the figurine of the multi-headed creature on the board and announced its arrival - frightening Will, Dustin and Lucas.

The problem, however, lies in the fact that this particular Demogorgon figurine wasn't actually in existence until 1984 - a year after the first season was set.

Hardly a major issue - and one that non die-hard D&D fans probably didn't notice, but it's a rare anachronism for the Netflix series - and it's not the only one...
