Stranger Things: 15 Stupid Mistakes You Completely Missed

14. Walkie-Talkies Are The Way Of The Future

Like the Demogorgon figurine, the walkie-talkies play a major role in Stranger Things (especially in its first season) as it's how Mike, Lucas, Will and Dustin communicate - and, more specifically, it's how Eleven managed to help the gang locate Will.

What you might not have noticed though is that this specific brand of walkie - the TRC-214 - may not have been available in 1983. Wired consulted the '80s Radio Shack catalogues and found no evidence of its existence until 1985.

Another small anachronism, perhaps? If it is indeed true that these models didn't debut until after '83, it's still a pretty easy one to overlook given how important they are to the narrative. That being said, it's unusual that a show that takes so much care to get things right seemed to miss this one.
