Stranger Things 2: 9 Big Questions We Need Answering In Season 3

The surprising breakout character of Stranger Things' debut run was, of course, Shannon Purser's Barb. Despite only appearing in a handful of episodes before being eaten up by the Upside Down, Nancy's geeky friend struck a chord with viewers who started a social media campaign to get #JusticeForBarb in season two. Not one to ignore their fans, the Duffer brothers worked this in to the next season.

At the same time, they also gave us another loveable character who met a grisly end. The Goonies' Sean Astin was a great addition to the cast as Joyce's new boyfriend Bob. He had the personality of an embarrassing uncle but also a heart of gold and a lot of smarts and courage. Which is why it was so tragic when he was torn to shreds by Demodogs in episode 8.

Joyce was clearly still in mourning for Bob by the end of the season, but the final scenes of the finale suggested she might be moving forward with Hopper, as has been hinted for a while. Let's hope that Bob is not completely forgotten, though. If the fallout of Barb's death got the Hawkins Lab shut down (more on that later), Bob's noble sacrifice had better count for something, too.
