7. Something Evil's Lurking From The Dark
There's an ominous, Lovecraftian entity looming over Hawkins, and you get a better glimpse of it in the final trailer for Stranger Things season two. Lovecraft very much seems to be the inspiration for this creature, and it seems as if it will be the primary threat in season two.
The way in which it towers over everything is ominous. Whether or not this beast is actually in "our" reality, or trapped over in the Upside Down, remains to be seen. It may be that Eleven and friends need to prevent it from breaking through to the real world. Either way, this is a far more intimidating force than the Demogorgon. No matter how terrifying, that creature's relatively humanoid shape and size kept the beast feeling somehow mortal.
This new foe? It's immense size makes it that much more horrible, especially when you consider that the show's protagonists are mostly kids. How exactly are they supposed to combat it?
A baseball bat won't help you here.
