Stranger Things 3: 11 Best Chief Hopper Moments Of The Season

Cary Elwes is clearly having a blast throughout this season, getting to play mayor Larry Kline as nothing short of a complete and total d*ckbag. As a result, rather predictably, Hopper and Kline don't exactly get along, leading to a great many skirmishes between them throughout the season. Far and away the best of these, though, involves Hopper almost getting a bit *too* carried away with Kline's cigar cutter.

After figuring out that Kline is tangled up with the Russians due to some paperwork having to do with the Starcourt Mall, Hopper and Joyce go to talk to him. When Kline neglects to be as forthcoming as they'd like, things go south pretty quickly and Hopper does the only reasonable thing: he nearly chops off the mayor's finger using Kline's own cigar cutter.

It's a bonkers moment, one that is the first real step for Hopper and Joyce down an adventure full of wacky hijinks (more on that later) and it's played with a manic level of commitment on Harbours part that makes it ludicrously enjoyable.

Plus, it's just plain satisfying to see Kline squirm.
