Stranger Things: 5 Best & 5 Worst Characters

7. Lonnie

Stranger Things Dustin Lucas
Netflix

The show is not entirely devoid of strong father figures, but Ted and Lonnie make it a tough scale to balance. If Ted's negligence was simply down to ignorance, Lonnie's is down to pure self-interest.

It's hard to believe a character, even an estranged scumbag of a father, could be so cold in the wake of their child's disappearance and death. Rather than comforting the grieving Joyce and Jonathan, Lonnie schemes to sue over Will's supposed accident, and when he is found out he blames Joyce for the whole thing. A true man amongst boys. He then scurries away before any of the real challenges surface, and he is not missed by anyone.

Rather than a heart-warming story of a man trying to reconnect with his family in a time of crisis, we get the 'he's only in it for himself' shtick. Awful character.
