2. Dustin
One of the most beloved characters to grace the screen in Stranger Things, Dustin is the best friend we all want in life. He is loyal to a fault, and while Lucas is being petty and Mike is crushing on Eleven, Dustin is the only one with his head completely screwed on, his sole focus being unravelling the mystery surrounding Will's disappearance.
Child actors can sometimes make audiences cringe more often than anything else, but Gaten Matarazzo has taken the TV world by storm for his role as Dustin. His curly hair, his toothless grin, his lisp, his pre-teen cursing, his understanding of the importance of snacks; it all makes for a wonderful supporting character to help navigate through all the chaos.
Even more so than Mike, Dustin makes us care about Will's disappearance and the mystery surrounding it, and he brings an air of suspense when we realise the horrors they are going up against. This is because Dustin represents the ultimate underdog, and the lovable youngster is constantly keeping the group from falling apart while being an unrelenting light in an otherwise dark universe.
