In a show that relies so heavily on child actors, Millie Bobby Brown proved to be a magnificent talent to build around. Having just escaped from the government facility Eleven stumbles into the lives of Mike and the crew, bringing a host of unanswered questions that are slowly worked out throughout the course of the series. She is like a human version of E.T, intrigued by televisions and eggos alike, and her innocence and the cruelty and horrors she was forced to face is the emotional heart of the entire story.
Eleven is Stranger Things incarnate, and her ultimate sacrifice at the end of the show was a magnificent end to the series. Hopper seems to believe she is still out there, and if he is holding out hope of Eleven's return then so should we.
