Stranger Things: Every Main Character Ranked Worst To Best

Hawkins Chief Jim Hopper initially starts out as somewhat of an obstruction to the boys and their investigation into what happened to Will, but thankfully, he’s not the sort of authority figure that refuses to listen to reason. Once he discovers what’s really going at Hawkins Lab, he’s more committed to getting the truth than anyone else and even ends up venturing into the Upside Down himself to retrieve Will.

His commitment to keeping the town safe is truly admirable and, from season two onwards, his attempts to parent Eleven to the best of his ability. We can see how heart-breaking it was for him to lose his first daughter to cancer and how he doesn’t want to waste this second chance he’s been given.

Despite his apparent death by heroic sacrifice at the end of season three, he has been confirmed to appear in season four and showed up in a recent teaser trailer as a prisoner of the Soviet Union. How he got all the way to Russia from Indiana and how he’ll escape is something that we’ll just have to wait to find out.
